Awwwww...the 80's...when music defined everything.

 

It created Fashion Icons like Madonna with her large bows, fishnets and poofy skirts, Michael Jackson and the parachute pants, high waters, and one-gloved hand, Prince with his purple pimp suits, and MC Hammer with those crazy Hammer Pants.

It brought us soundtracks to movies that we would later watch on VCR tapes that we will never forget like "The Breakfast Club," "E.T.," "Beverly Hills Cop," "Ghostbusters," "The Goonies," and of course, "Back to the Future," just to name a few.

Music of the 80's gave forum to go against the grain. Rappers came out with everything from Public Enemy and Run DMC to Salt & PeppaIt gave way to Heavy Metal / Hair Bands like Metallica, Poison, Guns N Roses and Def Leopard. It brought forth the first signs of electronic music with groups like the Eurythmics and Trinere & Friends that we would make rounds at the skating rink to. It also was the beginning of the Miami Bass movement, also known as "Booty Music."

DJ Magic Mike is one of the most pivotal producers of Miami Bass. He is also the first platinum selling artist to come out of Orlando, Florida. It is our great pleasure to have him come to Crystal River to present a never-before-heard set of old school 80's music with the video clips we all love.
